OUR STORY

The TeleEye Story

New technology changes the world.  It improves living standard, extends our life span, keeps us safer, transforms cultures and enables more and faster information access.

Back in 1994, knowing that the video compression technology that they invented in the CityU can benefit the society, the Founders together with CityU founded a company, TeleEye, to design and market video products.  With its innovative video surveillance products, people can use them to view instant activity of remote places, manage operations and safeguard their properties.  Later on the company, TeleEye Holdings Ltd., gained listing status and became the first university spin-off company listed in Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2001.

In the past 20 years, the Founders and TeleEye developed a long lists of pioneering video products and solutions.  Their efforts in research and development have made many firsts in the market and have been applied to various industries with different sizes of businesses in over 70 countries worldwide.

Having done research in science and technology for over 30 years, the TeleEye Founders deeply understand that science and technology are the keys for the future.  They believed that technology advancement and its applications have important effects on the modern and knowledge-based society.  High quality education is fundamental to advancement in science and technology.

To advance the Founders' vision of transforming the science and technology to innovative products that can benefit the society, the Founders have decided to set up a charity fund to directly support and drive quality education in general and particularly in the scope of science and technology areas.  They wish to equip the younger generations with sound knowledge, worthy qualities and professional skills in science and technology and eventually to become contributors to the society.
